Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta was working on Happy and Gay (2021) Hindi Web Seriesa no-hitter through five innings of Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday night -- then Fox aired a TV graphic touting Arrieta's feat-in-progress and he promptly gave up his first hit of the night to the Cleveland Indians.
Come on, Fox!

Arrieta was pulled soon after. He finished his start giving up one earned run while striking out six and walking three in five and two-thirds innings.
But, as The Big Lead points out, Arrieta very, verylikely wouldn't have gone the distance -- working with a no-hitter or not -- after already throwing 80 pitches through five innings.

The Cubs won 5-1 for their first World Series victory since 1945. The series is now tied at one game apiece as the teams head back to Chicago for Game 3 on Friday night.
